Shanghai Mansion, Yaowarat Road, Chinatown I am a second time return guest to Shanghai Mansion, and stayed on April 14 2010. This time my girlfriend also checked in, and was very unwell after catching a severe bug which made it difficult for her to move freely. Door staff were excellent, and even remembered who I was. Check in staff were also great, friendly and kind. A Songkran pack really was a great welcome to Bangkok. Sadly, upon taking breakfast on the first morning and being offered by the waitress if we would like tea or coffee, I advised I would not have anything however my partner would have water (due to her condition, she would not drink anything else). I was abruptly pointed far away to where the water was, and told she would have to get it herself. This gave me the feeling that because my partner was Thai, that she should not receive the same service as other guests. This was upsetting. This was not what I had expected and found it to be very impolite, tarnishing the whole experience. On the whole, this is a wonderful hotel. But, the waitress in this case perhaps needs further training on customer service. I would consider returning to this hotel in the future. |
Sawadee as usual were flawless, arranging the booking quickly with no
trouble. Rates were also the cheapest I could find. I would not use anyone
else when booking in Thailand for these reasons. |

Shanghai Mansion, Yaowarat Road, Chinatown Very disappointing! The room was too small and the furniture too large. Access to the bed was unsuitable for older patrons ( had to climb through the bottom of the bed). The bathroom was tiny and offered little privacy. The hotel was undergoing renavation and this was not mentioned at the time of booking. To top it off, when we checked out after seeing the room, the exit from the hotel was through a grocery store (how tacky). |

Shanghai Mansion, Yaowarat Road, Chinatown Super cute hotel right in Chinatown! Great location, helpful staff but careful with the concierges and taxi drivers out front - they will try to get you to go to their gem and tailor shops - where they get a cut so you will pay much more. Also make sure you insist on taxi meters for all drives otherwise the flat rate they suggest will be at least double what it will really cost you. Try the dim sum place across the street - delicious and cheap! Good thai massage place on the next st to the right 369. Spa in the hotel is closed for renos for the next year - I was very upset as that had been one of our main reasons for picking this hotel. Very cute decor and free internet and breakfast (not bad). Showers have great water pressure and are large! Excellent value for the price! |
Excellent though a bit annoying with the multiple emails. Also Airport shuttle option did not work. |

Shanghai Inn, Yaowarat Road, Chinatown Shanghai Inn is beautifully decoraed and unlike anywhere ive stayed before- very unique. The rooms are a good size and clean and alot of thought has gone in to everything. The free breakfast was good and staff were friendly and helpful. If I had to find something internet was expensive ( 50 baht for half hr min) and theres not much to do in chinatown but tuk tuk or taxis (metered ones) are cheap and only 5-10 mins from anywhere. |
Easy and reliable. |

Shanghai Inn, Yaowarat Road, Chinatown Rooms are very nice, but no views as stained glass windows. Taxi drivers had trouble finding the hotel, but the hotel card with a map in Thai does help. Hotel has a shuttle service, but is not immediatly on the subway/skytrain system. |
very easy |

Shanghai Inn, Yaowarat Road, Chinatown the hotel is located in the busier area of china town, you can easily find everything here, but sometimes need to be patient because the traffic in this area could be horrible. in the hotel, everything, every details and each staff was so nice. we especially love the design and exotic atmosphere.if you have time to travel to bangkok, don t miss here. |

Shanghai Inn, Yaowarat Road, Chinatown A nice hotel for the money, and great staff! A bonuses are the great Chinese restaurant next door, and the supermarket underneath the hotel. Location is not far from the Golden Buddha, and the main train station. |
Worked well! |

Shanghai Inn, Yaowarat Road, Chinatown A small hotel located in center of Chinatown area of Bangkok. Room was small but cozy and offered the basic things we needed; staff was friendly and helpful; worth its cost, even though I haven t visited other Bangkok hotels for comparison. |
